A Safe & Neutral Environment for Children & Their Parents

The Interchange

The Interchange at Fulcrum DRC has been in operation for nearly two decades and has been providing a safe and neutral environment for parents and their children. The Interchange is an outreach program in which supervised visitation and/or exchanges of children between custodial and non-custodial parents can occur. We strive to provide a safe place for families to gather.

Intake Process

Prior to visitation or exchanges occurring, both parents must complete an Intake. The intakes are completed separately, by both parents, and involve meeting with an Intake Specialist for the purpose of introducing them to the policies regarding the program. The parents are asked to provide copies of any court orders related to the visitations to the Intake Specialist.  We encourage the parent to have the child(ren) accompany them in order to meet the specialist and check out the surroundings and visitation rooms. Following the completion of the intakes, a schedule can be set for the supervised visitations or parental exchanges of the child(ren).

The Exchange

The parent who drops off the child(ren) will arrive with the child(ren) before the parent who picks up the child(ren). A window of time between parents is established to allow each parent to arrive and depart safely and free of conflict with the other parent. A visitation supervisor is assigned to the child for the time between pick up and drop off. Each parent will check in/out the child(ren) and show ID. The Fee is $20 per exchange.

Supervised Visitations

The custodial parent arrives up to 30 minutes before a scheduled visitation. A qualified visitation supervisor is with the child(ren) at all times during the visitation. When the non-custodial parent arrives the child(ren) and parent spend time together while the visitation supervisor observes and documents their interactions. Fees are $44.00 for the first hour of visitation, $44.00 for the second hour of visitation, and $40.00 for the third hour of visitation and any hours beyond the first three hours. Additionally, there is a fee of $5.00 per child per hour after the first three (3) children.

Written Reports

Written reports remain confidential and are not released unless requested by an attorney of record or any referring agency. Custodial and Non-custodial parents may request, in writing, copies of the visitation reports, which will then be filed with the court for them to access. The Interchange does not release copies of visitation notes directly to Custodial or Non-custodial parents at any time for any reason.

Qualified Supervisors

All staff have been specially trained and have been through a 50 state criminal background check. In addition, The Interchange has strict personnel policies by which all staff must abide. If at any time you have concerns or questions you are encouraged to contact the Human Resource Department.
