Mission Statement

CORE – Community-Opportunity-Reentry-Education is a program dedicated to supporting individuals who are transitioning out of Washington state’s correctional system. Our mission is to provide comprehensive transitional services that empower these individuals to successfully reintegrate into society. Through mentorship, we offer guidance and support to help navigate the challenges faced during the reentry process. Additionally, we provide training and employment classes to enhance skills and increase our client’s chances of securing meaningful employment. Understanding the importance of stability, we offer assistance with obtaining housing, food and legal resources. Lastly, we ensure that basic needs such as clothing and hygiene products are met, as well as transportation options for those who need it. At CORE, we are committed to helping justice involved individuals rebuild their lives and find a sense of belonging within their community.

About Community Reentry

Community reentry programs play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful rehabilitation and integration of individuals who are exiting the correctional system. These programs are crucial as they provide a structured and supportive environment that helps former inmates reintegrate into society, reduce recidivism rates, and rebuild their lives. Volunteer mentors are an integral component of these programs, offering guidance, emotional support, and practical assistance to those facing the challenging transition from incarceration to community life. These mentors, often individuals from diverse backgrounds, provide a valuable source of encouragement and role modeling, helping former inmates navigate the complexities of finding employment, housing, and accessing essential social services. By fostering a sense of belonging and stability, volunteer mentors contribute significantly to breaking the cycle of incarceration and promoting the long-term success of individuals in their journey toward reintegration into society.
